Our Doctor

🩺 Dr. Eduardo García León

Lead Veterinarian – Westwood Veterinary Clinic

Born and raised in Havana, Cuba, Dr. Eduardo GarcĂa LeĂłn has dedicated over 20 years to the care and well-being of animals. He graduated from the Agrarian University of Havana in 2005 and has continued his professional training with specializations in Ophthalmology (2024) and Therapeutic Nutrition (2023), reflecting his constant desire to learn and offer the best to his patients.

Passionate about internal medicine and rare diseases, Dr. GarcĂa finds in each case an opportunity to research, study, and offer personalized treatment. His philosophy is based on educating pet owners about preventative medicine and helping them create a healthy and safe environment for their pets, both physically and emotionally.

Before joining Westwood Veterinary Clinic, she worked at veterinary clinics in Cuba, Mexico, and Miami, including Banfield, Doral Welfare Animal Clinic, and The Pet House. This diverse experience has allowed her to develop compassionate, humane care completely focused on the needs of both the pet and the owner.

At Westwood, his commitment is to provide accessible, personalized, and ethical service, dedicating time, patience, and professionalism to each patient. “Every pet is unique,” he says, “so it deserves a unique approach.”

In his free time, Dr. García enjoys traveling, experiencing new cultures, being in contact with nature, and learning new things—like skating. He lives with Titi, his active and affectionate three-year-old Maltese, who accompanies him as his faithful companion.

He is an active member of the AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) and SFVMA (South Florida Veterinary Medical Association).
